Art Club: Pigs can fly if you believe

art club

Here’s what out Art Club leader, Nita Newman, had to say about the group’s recent performance of Pigs can fly if you believe. The show was inspired by some of the stories we have collected as part of the wider Echoes project.

Art Club’s fashion theatre production entitled Pigs can fly if you believe went down a storm with parents, friends and family alike. Our very own narrator and tour guide, 8 year old Sonny Ataria-Wright, guided the audience through the performance with ad libs and a spattering of cocky-confidence. A show of both humour and pathos delighted the audience whilst they closely followed the intrepid gang from the safety of the farm and the fattening food fest in candy land, to the perils of Digbeth’s Blade Valley where the blood thirsty butcher awaited their arrival. Unfortunately for the butcher the animal friends made their escape so that Albert the pig could gain both his wings and his freedom in an epic story of friendship, loyalty and heroism.
